Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend
Epilepsy Ottawa is proud to be an official charity in the 2026 Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend Desjardins Charity Challenge.
The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is home to Canada’s largest marathon and features 6 unique running events attracting over 43,000 participants, 2,500 volunteers, and tens of thousands of spectators resulting in an economic impact of over $27 million annually to the National Capital Region. Race Weekend also supports the efforts of runners and donors from over 60 local and national charities who raise over $800,000 annually through the Desjardins Charity Challenge.
Join Our Team: The Brainstorm Brigade
This year we will have designated Team Captains from the Epilepsy Community running/walking alongside you during the race!
Walk with Sandi for the family fun 2k
All participants are invited to connect with their team captain before and after the race which is an amazing opportunity to meet others in the epilepsy community and get everyone energized and ready to hit the pavement! Whether you choose to run or walk, we encourage you to mingle with your teammates and enjoy the race at your own pace.
How Can I Support Epilepsy Ottawa During Race Weekend?
Sign Up for the Green Bib option when selecting your race (every race has this option)! This means you won’t receive a metal at the end but the cost will be donated back to Epilepsy Ottawa! Be sure to select Epilepsy Ottawa as your charity of choice while registering!
Whether you are running, walking or cheering from a distance, you can create a fundraising page to directly support the work we’re doing at Epilepsy Ottawa. You can do that here.
If you’re not up for doing fundraising but would still like to contribute you can donate to our team “The Brainstorm Brigade” by clicking the link here.

Purple Day Dash
Our annual Purple Day Celebration takes a fun new route this year as an indoor bingo-style scavenger hunt designed for kids and adults of all ages! This high-energy celebration brings our community together in a fun and interactive way, all while raising awareness for epilepsy and showing what it means to stand together.
Participants will receive a Purple Day Dash bingo card filled with exciting challenges and activities inspired by our Purple Day celebration. Complete creative stations like bracelet making and postcard decorating, test your knowledge with trivia, toss your way to victory in a balloon toss, or challenge a friend to a friendly game of cornhole. Each activity gets you closer to shouting BINGO and maybe even earning a prize!
Not feeling up for dashing? That’s perfectly okay! You can still join the fun at your own pace. Stop by to enjoy the crafts, cheer others on, connect with community members, learn more about epilepsy, and simply soak in the purple spirit. Whether you complete every square or just participate in a few activities, your presence makes a difference.
So grab your purple gear, bring your energy (or just yourself!), and join us as we dash, discover, and raise awareness together. Let’s make this Purple Day one to remember!
